One Month Old!

Alli was 1 month old yesterday! I can't believe it has already been a month. Our little girl is already starting to get so big. She has gained 2 lbs since she was born and is starting to get quite the chubby cheeks and belly. :) She seems to be starting to sleep pretty well at night time (she still wakes up every three hours to eat, but has been going right back to sleep for the most part). She is awake more everyday and is starting to show us her pretty smiles in response to our own.

Napping with Daddy.

A rare sight...sleeping in her cradle!

Hanging out at Aunt Larisa's house.

Sleeping on Grandpa Kephart...he is so nice and warm, perfect for snuggling!

Aunt Kirstin

Aunt Kirstin came to visit her new niece Allison in mid June. The day she returned to Reno, Alli's new cousin, Bella, was born. June 12th, the day Bella was born to Kari and Pablo, also happens to be Kirstin's birthday.

We had a great time while Aunt Kirstin was here. I was able to start going for walks and she stayed up with Alli in the evenings to let Devin and I get a little extra shut-eye. Thank you Aunt Kirstin!

Baby is home!

Alli is 9 days old today! Today was the day she was scheduled to be born, June 1st. We spent three days at the hospital and then came home on Wednesday night, May 26th. My parents have been helping us out a ton. Devin still has to work, but luckily not full days right now, so they have been here to help while he is gone. They have also been making us dinner, and I think we would be reduced to some hot pocket nights if it were not for them.

I don't think you can truly understand how much your parent's love you until you have a child. It is type of love I didn't know existed. We are so happy, and sleep deprived, having her home, but loving all of our time with her. I have a little case of the "baby blues", so if you call and hear a tear in my voice, know that it is just a million hormones rushing out my eyeballs. :)

Such a cute baby girl, but the pictures just don't quite do her justice.

"I love you mom, please feed me." Our little girl is one hungry hungry hippo, she seems to think it is time to eat every time I pick her up. :)

Hip Hip Hooray! Alli loves to squiggle her arms. We keep the mittens on at all times because her hands are constantly in her face and we don't want any scratches on those cute little cheeks!

Leo loves our new addition two. He is very respectful of her space (even though I know he really wants to lick her face). He also gets very concerned when she cries and usually lays near whatever chair the person holding her is in. We love our little boy too. Grandpa has been taking him for his walk. Thank you Grandpa!

Megan holding her new cousin. The couple times we have been around Allison's cousins, Megan has always wanted to get some Alli time in. What a wonderful cousin.

At the Hospital

We had quite a few visitors at the hospital which was wonderful! Alli is so loved. :) Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to see our little "punkin" (which has quickly become my favorite nickname for her, but there are many others :) ). All the loving faces gave me a distraction from my tummy pain, which was the not so fun part of her birth.

"I think I want to sleep." At least that is what I think she was thinking. :)

The May baby cousins. Alli was born May 23rd and Brooke the 28th.

A proud grandpa right after her birth.

Welcome to the world Allison Terry Mestas!

Alli was born today at 2:35pm. She weighs 7lbs-10oz and is 18 1/2 inches long. She has a thick head of brown hair and looks a ton like her daddy.

The C-section went really well and I am recovering well too. She is breast feeding well already! If you come to visit, make sure to knock first is you don't want an eyefull. :)

I can't believe what if feels like to be a mommy, I love her so much! I have attached a couple of pictures, and will post more tomorrow of her proud daddy and grandparents...they took their cameras and ran!

Guesses on the Birthday?

We had our 38 week check up this morning, and everything is looking good with the baby. Because I have been having some pretty good swings with my blood pressure, they had me go into the hospital to have my blood pressure checked at around 1:00pm. They also did some other tests, and the final word was that we were not going to have the baby today...but it could be any day now.

Alli is perfectly happy and active right where she is and doesn't seem to have any intention of coming out of her own free will in the near future. My body, on the other hand, seems to want to be done being pregnant. So, I am on bed rest, keeping my body as relaxed as possible to allow Alli the time to get ready to join the world. The longer she stays put, the more time she has to put on weight and develop her lungs before taking those first big breaths.

So, Devin and I will be making a trek to the hospital to have them monitor my blood pressure, and a few other things, and the baby's heart rate every other day until either I go into labor, or the doctor thinks it would be safer to have the C-section early. Either way she will be here soon.

If you have some spare time give me a call...I'm bored. If you are making guesses on the birthday, you had better pick one of the every other days...my bets on next Tuesday the 25th. :) The scheduled date is June 1st.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and we will keep you posted!

Modified Bed Rest :(

I had my 37 week check up last Friday, and my Doc said no more going to work. I have moderate preeclampsia so I am to keep my feet up as much as possible and take it easy. So, I got everything prepared at work for me to be gone and am now, "taking it easy", at home this week. I'm doing some work part time, and taking lots of breaks. The goal is to not have the baby until at least next week, and to not progress to extreme preeclampsia symptoms. :) I have another appointment on Friday, and we will have a better idea of whether or not we will be moving the due date up a week.

So, if you happen to be in my neck of the woods, feel free to stop by. :) I'm mostly hanging out at the house, with a few jaunts to the video store or out to lunch. Me and Alli feel fine and are just hanging out until the big day! :) She is still squiggling as much as ever was!
